I first met Jackie 25 years ago in my role as a new Head at Great Alne Primary School. It became clear very quickly what a special person she was. Jackie soon became the school secretary , and the most important person in the place, she was very much the "face" of Great Alne Primary for many years. Joseph was a model pupil (with very long hair) in my Year 6 teaching class. I often think about our celebratory trip to Brussels after winning an international environmental award. Jackie was the best of friends to our family through some very difficult times. She was always there for us and nothing was ever too much trouble. She will be sadly missed by all of us.
